1973 commercial superbeetle

www.painteddesigns.nl This 1973 commercial really brings you back to the ’70s. Especially the romantic violin music at the end is great. Gives you that luxurious feeling, don’t you agree? Not very special, but one of my favourites. From theDVD ‘Legend on wheels’. Wanna have this DVD packed with 2 hours of high quality digitally remastered old vw commercials? The DVD really brings you back to the ’60s and ’70s. Send an email to beetlejuice150@hotmail.com

This was my first car, an orange 73 Super Beetle, white interior like this, no freaking sculptured dash tho. I hated the damn car. On the plus side, it was built rock solid like a jeep, that was cool. On the downside, that putt putt noise and veritcal austere seats would drive you crazy, esp. struggling up a steep hill and downshifting, and downshifting again. I finally flipped it while drifting on a sandy road. I wish I had gotten the Karman Ghia in the family instead.

Last week I bought a 1973 Super Beetle auto-stick model for $500. It needs lots of TLC (rear passenger side floor half-pan, engine, brakes.. lots more) but the heater channels are still good.

@Life4Blackberry yes:) I took the back seat out of my bug! It added a few precious square feet of rumble room:) If this bug is rockin’ don’t bother knockin’…but they did anyway:)

i had restored a 74 bug back in 94. This thing looked like it was driven off the show room floor it was in mint condition just like the one in the commercial. I’d kill to have it back, particularly with today’s gas prices.

You won’t know it’s a VW after you get killed in a car accident after driving one, because you will be dead………. Okay, nevermind lame joke.

I hate the voice-over guy, sounds like someone kicked him in the nuts or something. Love me some beetle, though!

I’ve been driving my 74 standard beetle since 1990 and it was shot THEN. Still not restored and it still keeps going!

@Fahrvergnugen yeah, the vw bug was one of the few cars that looked really good in orange

I have one of those (that very model, year, almost color even) and it’s right, from the inside you hardly realize you’re driving such a unique car, it feels like any other. Just a little older than anything else I’ve ever driven, that’s all.
